Phone calls keep breaking up?

I sent my phone to the repair center in Texas and the phone they gave me when i get calls they and sometimes when I call people they end up breaking up on there's silence on my end of the phone when they are talking. Whats up with that. It has to be the phone right because my other phone did not act like this.
