How can i talk to my crush without having awkward silence?

im hanging out with this girl i like in a few days she wants to teach me dance moves(she does'nt know i like her) whenever we hang theirs always awkward silence...im thinking of asking her out but i can't if i act this way. any tips hints advice ANYTHING? need help ASAP i want to be ready and know what to say before we hang.
